Canada Day is a great opportunity to thank God for the beautiful, safe country we live in. It's extra exciting when you live in the capital city! But perhaps, this year you're looking to step away from the city-wide activities and enjoy a lowkey Canada Day. Below are some activities you can do in the comfort of your own home to celebrate Canada day this year.
1. Tune in to CHRI for O Canada: The Radio Superspecial
If you're reading this, you probably have some kind of appreciation for Christian music, and Canadians! From 3 to 6 P.M. ET on Canada Day, tune in for the very best Canadian Christian songs from some of this country's very best artists! Like Tuzee, Dan Bremnes, Brooke Nicholls, Jordan Janzen, Elenee, Brian Doerksen, K-Anthony, and many more.
2. Homemade Beavertails
I mean...does it get any more Canadian? Here's a recipe for you! Made only with pantry staples, done in an hour! All ages can get in on the fun of making your own Beavertails at home!
3. Acts of Kindness
What better way to celebrate Canada, than showing the kindness that we are known for to others? This could include baking for neighbors (hint hint...beavertails!!), helping a friend or neighbour with yardwork, or offering to help with errands. Let your actions reflect Christ’s love and compassion.
4. Easy Canadian Flag Craft
This craft is perfect for little ones! It only involves red paint and white cardstock. Paint the red columns of the Canadian flag, and then make a handprint maple leaf with red paint! Our suggestion: Once your flag has dried, flip it over and write a prayer for Canada on the back.
5. Watch a Hilarious Video of the CHRI Team
Last summer, we played Taco Puck Maple Syrup Canoe (the Canadian version of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza). Witness the excitement of this all Canadian game! Who do you think won?!
