I am so inspired by Corrie Ten Boom and said “You will find it is necessary to let things go, simply for the reason that they are too heavy.”
And it reminded me of a story I read a about a cyclist who was only a hundred kilometers in to his 18 months tour of Australia before starting to get pain in his ankles. The doctor told him he was putting too much strain on them. So, to lighten his load, he ditched almost 45 pounds of extra gear - items that were superfluous but were slowing him down AND making the trip harder. And when asked why he packed so much in the first place, he said it was because he wanted to be totally self-sufficient.
Some people go their whole lives afraid of relying on someone else for anything; even becoming numb to the pain and discomfort of all the extra baggage that's holding them back. Let go. There is someone else who wants to carry the weight for you.
