"Martin Luther King Jr. said “We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.” – I’m going to give you a plan to facing disappointment... ‘cause being let down is inevitable. Like, when my husband and I found the house we thought God had for us. We even included with our offer a hand-written letter and a picture of our little family to try winning over the seller. We were sure it was ours, but they ended up going with a higher offer. I cried so much! But we knew going into this process that God was in control so we kept looking.
There’s this psalmist who had to work his way out of despair. He said “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again!”
He predetermined that he would rise above his discouragement to find his hope. He decided first that when he's sad and discouraged, he’ll praise.
When you're most disappointed, turn to God and remember all he has done for you."
