3x Grammy winning choir director Dwan Hill said: “Collaboration is less about who you are and more about who you are with others.” Remember doing group projects at school? Your grade depended on who was in your group. Whether YOU ended up doing it all or you were the one that would sit back and let everyone else do the heavy lifting, you were graded as a whole.
What you didn't realize at the time was that your teacher was marking you on how well you worked with your peers. They weren't just looking at how smart you were or how well you knew the material, but your teacher was also watching how well you collaborated and your contributions. This school lesson, much like real life, is about growing in your care for others... Unity.
Unity is about coming together and asking what can I do for you? How can I serve?
Being part of a team is not all about you but how you can do more because of those around you.
