“Trust is the grease that oils the gears, without it everything is more difficult.” That’s what Dr Marc Hetherington professor of political science at the University of North Carolina said.
Trust of institutions is at an all-time low, we already know that, that is a disaster for any society, it doesn't work without trust.
There are people who don't trust the government, don't trust the media, don't trust the church... Which often leads to a distrust in people. And we have many reasons not to! I get it. So how do we build trust?
Follow through on your promises. Be transparent in your actions and motivations. Be accountable. If we can serve without expecting anything in return and be someone others can count on, we can start to build a better society of trust and things will just start to work better.
