Your Monday Motivation this week is: “Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its worries, it empties today of its strength.”
Worrying is exhausting. I have physically ached with worry before... with uncertainty or fear of every unknown, from something as major as health to everyday task lists and over-packed calendars. It’s amazing how impossible it is to fall back asleep once you start running through everything you have to get to tomorrow and this week in your head. But truly, what are we left with? More exhaustion!
Fixing our thoughts on the things that haven’t happened yet takes our focus away from the here & now; from the GIFT that is the present.
Look at the sparrow. It doesn’t store up food for the winter for fear it’ll starve. It flies, it huddles and nests. Sounds kinda peaceful, actually!
There’s no use staying up all night worrying. Give it to God, He’s up all night anyway! Happy Monday.
