Every Monday at 5:00 P.M. ET, Care Baldwin shares a Monday Motivation quote along with a message to encourage you in your life and faith. Today's quote from Pastor Eugene Peterson challenges us to try seeking to understand people instead of trying to fix them.
"PEOPLE ARE NOT PROBLEMS TO BE FIXED, THEY ARE MYSTERIES TO BE EXPLORED."

People are complicated beings. We have nuisances and quirks... And flaws... And we are to be loved and understood; not judged. People are broken but that doesn't mean it's our job to fix them.
Pastor and author of The Message Bible translation Eugene Peterson said “People are not problems to be solved. They are mysteries to be explored.”
I know when I begin to try and understand a person - especially one that I may disagree with! – I can start seeing them through God’s eyes, as created in His image and loved by Him. I may even come to appreciate what may have led them to be this way.
It is NOT easy sometimes, I know! But We shouldn’t give up on being fascinated with people.
My job is not to say how a person should or shouldn't be, to solve their problems, or even to MAKE them happy, but to see good and grace working in their lives. I'd want them to see the same in me. Happy Monday!
