“If I say, 'Yes, I forgive, but I cannot forgive,” as though the God, who twice a day washes all the sands on all the shores of all the world, could not wash such memories from my mind, then I know nothing of Calvary love." — Amy Carmichael

It’s easy to say “I forgive”, but do we actually forgive? If we saw that person, what would we feel? What would our heart posture be? Would there be healing and freedom? We can forgive but we don’t often forget. The Bible teaches that unselfish love is the basis for true forgiveness, since “it keeps no record of wrongs”. Biblical forgiveness, TRUE releasing forgiveness means letting go of resentment and giving up any claim to be compensated for the hurt or loss we have suffered. This may seem like an impossible task, but we can start by asking God to change our heart... to show us His love so we know how to extend it to others."
