When I was a kid I remember loving to roll down hills in the soft summer grass. My mom? Not so much. Here's an easy activity, brought to you by tired parents, that will be a hit with the kids and adults alike.
First, you need to find a good hill to roll down.... a hill that is good for tobogganing will also be good for rolling. Park the parents at the bottom of the hill (unless you want to roll down too). The object of the game is to be the first to return to the parent at the bottom of the hill... after completing a series of simple challenges set out by their parents.

1. Line up each player at the bottom of the hill, 6 feet apart, facing away from the parents.
2. The parent then calls on a child by name and gives them instructions so they can move forward. For instance, "Emma, take 2 GIANT steps forward."
3. The child who is called on must then say, "Mother/Father, may I?"
4. Mother/Father then responds either "Yes", and the child can take the steps forward, or "No" and the child must comply.
5. If a child makes a move and forgets to ask, "Mother, may I?" then they must go back to the starting line.
6. If another child takes the steps out of turn, they must also go back to the starting line.
7. The first child to reach a marked spot at the top of the hill and then roll back to their mother/father wins.
