What is your life verse?

Matthew 28:16-20 is how I tend to live my life.

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I had been a believer for a lot of years before I was actually discipled by someone. It was a game-changer so ever since then, I’ve been super intentional about not just leading people to Christ but walking with them and teaching them how to live out their faith.

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Being from Texas, Bluebell Ice Cream is my favorite brand and their cookies & creme flavor is my go-to! I can consume a full half-gallon with no self-control.

Who’s your hero?
Jesus is the obvious answer! Nobody else can compare of course but whoever invented the Nespresso machine that I use multiple times a day is a close second.

How many hours of sleep do you need?
I tend to do great with about 4 hours of sleep each night. I’m not a morning person at all so I tend to stay up super later.

If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
There’s a place in Dallas that serves sushi on a giant conveyor belt system that runs through the restaurant. I could sit there and eat that for the rest of my life! All sorts of sushi rolls pass by on the conveyer belt so you can just pick out the plate you want and enjoy. Eat and repeat!

Hobbies?
I’ve always considered working and running my business as my hobby since I’ve always loved doing that but in the last couple of years, I’ve been branching out and trying some new things like hiking, grilling, and baking stuff. When I say hiking it’s Texas-style so more like walks in the woods...not like Mt. Everest style!

Worst gift you’ve ever received?
I was celebrating Christmas as an adult with my parents, my sister, and her family one year and I got a doozie of a gift. The other guys there were all opening “manly” things and my brother-in-law even got a giant machete but when I opened my gift from the family it was a soup mix and a candle. I seriously thought I accidentally opened someone else’s gift and had to double-check the tag. Sadly, it was mine. I never asked questions...just smiled and said thank you.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Okay, I just had to go and count to be sure...18 counting a pair of boots and a pair of flip flops. Not sure if the flip-flops count as a full pair of shoes or not but I threw them in the count!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Not really weird because of the food but more because of the quantity...I once participated in a pumpkin pie eating contest. Notice I said once...one and done forever. It took years to even eat a bite of pumpkin pie after that experience.

Toilet paper: over or under?
Without a doubt...over! I’ve even been known to pick a lock on a dispenser in a public bathroom to switch the toilet paper from under to over assuming someone didn’t know any better. I guess it’s the OCD in me.

On a scale of 1-10, how funny would you say you are?
I’d say a 10 but my kids would argue a strong 1. I don’t believe them though...especially when I catch them using my dad jokes with their friends from time to time.
