10-29-21 Moving Towards Maturity

On "Let's Talk Money" today, Dave and Reb encourage listeners to think about how they react to financial stress, as they share their own go-to responses around money stress. Dave tends to bury his head in the sand, while Reb leans toward more controlling behaviours. Looking at verses in 1 Corinthians 3, they also encourage listeners to grow in maturity in the Lord, so that envy, contentions, and divisions don't rise among God's people. 10-22-21 Responding to the Supply Chain Crisis

On today's "Let's Talk Money", Dave and Reb discuss the current global supply chain crisis and our consumer attitudes to how it is affecting our choices, especially as the Christmas season approaches. They remind listeners to be patient, find other solutions, and to learn contentment in the midst of this unprecedented situation. Attitudes of entitlement may arise, but Dave and Reb share how Psalm 33 can refocus us on the Lord. "No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine." (verses 16-19) Tune in and hear today's conversation which is sponsored today by More Than Enough Financial - a financial coaching, tax, and mortgage company helping people find hope and freedom in their finances one day at a time. 10-08-21 Thanksgiving Friday!

Rev. Ray Borg from Financial Discipleship Canada and notmine.ca joins Dave and Reb on "Let's Talk Money" this morning to reflect on thanksgiving, worship, and our understanding of God. This discussion also looks at how our ideas about God influence how we talk to God about money. As James Bryan Smith says in his book The Good and Beautiful Life, "what we think determines how we live. If we think God is an angry accountant frowning on us and would love us if only we are good enough, that narrative will be seen in how we live" (found on page 11). Together, Dave, Reb, and Rev. Borg discuss this understanding of God, and how that can influence our worship of Him. On this Thanksgiving weekend, they encourage listeners to take some time to reflect on who God is, and to thank Him for what He means in our lives! Today's show is sponsored by More Than Enough Financial - a financial coaching, tax, and mortgage company helping people find hope and freedom in their finances one day at a time.
