It’s Care and your Monday Motivation quote this week is from educator and reformer Booker T. Washington: "Great men cultivate love and only little men cherish a spirit of hatred”.
This isn’t the first time I’ve shared a quote of his, but I share this one today at a very tragic time in our history where a war is taking place. A war driven by hate. The targeted murder and torture of thousands of innocent people.
On today’s date in 1901, shortly after moving into the White House, President Roosevelt invited his adviser, the African American spokesman Booker T. Washington, to dine with him and his family. An event that many were appalled over for years to come. But Washington, who believed in lifting others up, said “I would permit no man, to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.” Jesus set the same example! Don't let hate in to your heart. Love over hate, people!!
