"Embrace being perfectly imperfect".
Author and American Attorney Roy T Bennett said this.
We won't be happy if we're always trying to be perfect. If we learn from our mistakes then we won't be discouraged and disappointed every time we make them. Wow! To me that means not just ‘accepting’ our imperfections and flaws, but being aware of them and embracing them so it can lead to change and growth.
Besides, there has only ever been one perfect person and that was Jesus, when we accept that we are not without faults, we can begin to lean on Him more and try being more like him.
I think there’s another layer to this... that is accepting that if I am not perfect, then no one is so I shouldn’t place high, unreachable expectations of other people.
More grace for myself will help me have more grace towards others.
