A Day In Montréal

Day17 ADayInMontreal 330

Montreal is one of the oldest cities in Canada, founded in the year 1642 located in the province of Quebec. Fun fact: did you know that Montreal was once named Ville-Marie? Now, there are so many things to see and do in this city. Here are some fun spots for you to drop by if you end up going.

A Meal For Lunch

If you are heading for Montreal near the afternoon, I suggest having lunch there. Specifically, going over to La Belle Province restaurant to get a nice bowl of poutine. There are so many options for poutine there like sour cream and bacon, philly steak, smoked meat, and more! There are many locations in Montreal so pick the one that is most convenient.

Biodome

The Montreal Biodome is a place where ecosystems have been recreated that also inhabit various creatures that dwell there. Watch the rays swim, the penguins waddling about, and the parrots fly above your head. From the tropical rainforest ecosystem, to the Gulf of St. Lawrence ecosystem, this destination is great for any nature enthusiast.

St Joseph’s Oratory

St. Joseph’s Oratory is a beautiful basilica in Montreal. This building is massive, and has many different areas to visit. There is the Crypt Church where the tomb of the oratory’s founder, St. Andre Bessette, rests, two different chapels, an exhibit of St. Andre’s life, and more!

La Grande Roue de Montréal

Translating to "The Big Wheel of Montreal", this is a giant ferris wheel located in the downtown area of the city. In this ride, you will be able to see the city from a bird's eye view. While you are at it, make sure you take many pictures from the ferris wheel, especially if there is a sunset.

These are just a few of the many things to do in Montreal and is a great place to have a day trip. See also if there is any other place in the city that interests you and your family!
