The Boy in the Tent Comes Inside After 3 Years

Untitled design - 2023-04-05T151854.903.pngAn adventure in honour of someone you care about is a great way to keep their memory alive, and Max Woosey sure has had an adventure, with the Guinness World Record for the most money raised by camping to show for it! ... I've [Care] loved following this story!

This story we first heard about three years ago has come to an end. The British boy, Max, who slept in a tent in his family's yard to raise money fo hospice is headed back inside. His mission was accomplished. THREE YEARS of camping out in wind, hail, in the cold, blazing heat, even on a zoo property! He went through 15 tents by the end and chronicled it all over social media.\

Max started this project when he was 10 years old as a fundraiser for the Hospice facility that cared for his neighbor, Rick Abbot, who died of cancer in 2020. Before his special neighbour died he gave Max a tent and told him to, quote: Have an adventure".

He didn't originally expect to go for so long but his parents were very supportive. So, three years later, Max Woosey was granted the British Empire Medal for civil service and a Guinness World Record for the most money raised by camping: $860,000!

Three years of his life dedicated to this, but not one minute wasted. He said "I have now been camping out for 3 years. Best adventure of my life! Now on to the next chapter."

What an inspiring teenager!
