Prayer Warriors

Last night I had the opportunity to attend Ottawa’s National House of Prayer G8/G20 prayer evening.  It was incredible.  I highly recommend stopping by NHOP to have a look at what God has provided to them, you will be amazed!

It was a truly incredible experience to be able to worship and pray for the world’s top leaders and the work God is going to do this weekend at the G8 and G20.  God reminded me of the importance of prayer and the importance of submitting our desires to Him.  We earnestly tried to set aside our personal desires for these meetings to seek the Lord’s desires and will.  It was a freeing experience.  It’s wonderful to be able to pray openly to God and to trust that He will have His way at the G8 and G20.  God is at the core of our world and we know that no matter what position these leaders hearts are in God has the power to influence their decisions.

Prayer is incredibly important, we have all been told this but do we believe it and act it out?  Do we truly feel God is working all around us in the spiritual realm?  Do we act like our prayers have the power to change the spiritual realm?  Romans 8:11 says, “the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you”.   That is incredible power that we can tap into by our prayers.  We have the power, through prayer, to see God really work and sometimes I feel like I miss out on it.

My challenge for myself and you this weekend is to PRAY!  Dig out your Bible, get on your knees, sit on your bed, or get outside and talk with God!  I would challenge you to pray for the G8 and G20.  These two meetings are huge and have the potential to make a lasting global impact.  When you take the time to stand in the gap and pray for another person, especially a complete stranger in a foreign country, you will never again be the same.  For some, the issues and topics being discussed might seem outside of your knowledge.  Not to fear … I found an awesome prayer guide!  There is also a blog titled “Luke 18 Weekend” where people are blogging about their prayers.  So, get out there and be a prayer warrior this weekend!!

The National House of Prayer is hosting prayer sessions for the G8/G20 tonight (Friday) 7-9pm & Saturday 7-9pm.    Anyone is free to stop in.  They're located downtown at 17 Myrand Ave.

Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his.  He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. Daniel 2:20-22.
