Hope can be hard to find in the midst of illness, tragedy, and challenging life circumstances. But hope is exactly what Dave and Reb’s lifelong friend Patty Grose shares with listeners on today’s episode of Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb”. Her story is one of loss, and is lined with a strong message: make sure you have a will and estate plan in place. After losing her husband suddenly, she and her seven-year-old daughter were left to grieve and carry the responsibility of a family-owned business. The will they were putting in place was not finalized by the time he died, and this propelled them into a myriad of obstacles, challenges, and lessons in the months ahead. Add to that, a cancer diagnosis, and Patty would need to lean into the Lord like never before. Listen to Patty share her story of sorrow, hope, love, and God’s provision in the midst of these circumstances. Go to willful.co to find out more about online will planning. Today's show is sponsored by More Than Enough Financial - a financial coaching, tax, and mortgage company empowering people to effectively manage their finances, while finding hope and financial freedom one day at a time. There is a lot of concern over inflation and interest rates in the Canadian economy, but on today’s “Let’s Talk Money with Dave and Reb” the co-hosts want to encourage listeners to take some time, breathe, and consider the historical context for interest rate fluctuations. To help Dave keep context, he keeps the historical interest rate graph from 1935 to present day on his desk. Alongside that, he also encourages listeners to create a financial plan and stick to it.
They encourage people to live on less than they make, build an emergency cushion, pay down debt, and keep capturing money efficiently, making sure financial trouble is avoided. 07-08-22 Good Talk, Bad Talk with Rev. Ray Borg

Are money conversations always a good idea? That is the question Dave and Reb tackle with monthly guest Rev. Ray Borg on today's episode of "Let's Talk Money with Dave and Reb". In all their podcasting years, Reb is sure they have never talked about "unhealthy" money conversations, and in light of growing economic uncertainty, they are hearing more and more money words that are stirring up strife and fear. Tune in to hear their words of encouragement based in Scripture, and their heart to see listeners focusing on the hope of Christ. In reference to a quote shared on the podcast, here is a portion from John Fenn, leader and pastor of Church Without Walls International: The Lord's provision may not be what we'd always like. For some it may be multiple generations living under the same roof to save money. It may not be seen as the highest and best solution, but it will be the Lord's provision for many. People will need to start gardens to supplement their groceries - yet that may be the Lord's provision. Discipline of lifestyle and delaying or cutting back on extras may be required - and yet what we have to do in common sense is the Lord's provision. We keep a positive attitude, worship, and look for His provision. Today's show is sponsored by More Than Enough Financial - a financial coaching, tax, and mortgage company empowering people to effectively manage their finances, while finding hope and financial freedom one day at a time. Happy Canada Day! While these past years have come with difficulties and challenges for Canadians, Dave and Reb encourage listeners on today's "Let's Talk Money" to take a deep breath today and pause to celebrate! Reb asks listeners what our families and communities would look like today if we just gave thanks for all we have been given. On this day when so many communities are celebrating with barbecues and fireworks, they encourage listeners to be intentional about setting aside time to give thanks. Dave and Reb refer to Colossians 6:7 as a source of hope, as well as a reminder that we are rooted in Christ, and as we are built up in Him, our faith will grow, and we will overflow with thanksgiving.
