Team Up, Fundraise, and Walk for Our Homeless

cnoy2022 330The Coldest Night Of The Year is a winterrific family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Team up, walk, and fundraise! It’s cold out there... but there’s no place like home.

This year, all of our local charities are hosting virtual walks. You and/or your team will choose your own walking route to complete together.

 

 

Some local charities being supported in 2022:

PEMBROKE

The Grind Pembroke — They are a faith-based, inter-denominational and inclusive non-profit organization serving marginalized, low- to no-income community members from through-out Renfrew County. They strive to be an agent of change in the community through their Coffee House, Community Kitchen, Outreach Ministry, Shelter Services including Transition House (a temporary assisted independent living option for homeless men who are health or social agency clients working on a life-stabilization plan), Client Services Office, and Youth Services recreational programs for children challenged by autism and other developmental issues.

OTTAWA DOWNTOWN

The Ottawa Mission — The Ottawa Mission works with people experiencing homelessness and poverty to make a change in their lives. Whether it’s providing a place to sleep and a meal to eat, or offering educational support and job training, The Ottawa Mission helps rebuild lives every day.

OTTAWA LOWERTOWN

Jericho Road — Jericho Road is a community of people that strive to move from addiction to connection through shared experience, strength and hope. They provide recovery programs and support with our men's residential program, community support groups, and addiction education forums and workshops. Through peer-mentoring, staff with lived experience, recovery meetings & community engagement, Jericho Road builds a community of inclusion that reaches far beyond the individual experiencing addiction to their families, friends and greater society.

Capital City Mission — They are a community of people in Ottawa’s Lowertown creating home through a daily drop-in, community support, and spiritual care.Their drop-in serves coffee and a light meal to 100-150 folks each day, Monday through Friday, cultivating a safe and respectful place for people to find community.
